Probably the last shooting gig in the year 2011, was my first proper concert of Slovenian trio Nina Bulatovix (saw them before briefly on one small festival), which was quite nice & loud experience. Marko Širec (bass & vocals), Jure Lavrin (drums & vocals) and Gregor Kosi (vocals & shaker) made this evening really cool, and musically speaking, reminded me of the legendary Joy Division - especially Marko's bass and Gregor's movements on stage.
Photographically speaking, this was a cool opportunity to check out my newest addition in the lens bag which I got just few hours before the gig. It's Samyang 8mm fisheye - cheap (under 270 EUR!), manual focus and allegedly pretty good glass quality by the Korean manufacturer.
A friend and a buddy concert photographer Matthias Hombauer (check out some great concert photos at his website) was raving about his wide angle 14mm f/2.8 lens by the same manufacturer, so I decided this fisheye (which, to be honest, has a limited use for gigs since you have to be really close to the band, but makes some really fun & special images) will be my Xmas present :)

Solar Pulse Music is a very agile and very cool collective organising concerts of independent music bands in Maribor. And they’ve been doing this already for the last ten years (time really does fly)! To celebrate that momentum, they put together a four day festival bringing us some of the best underground and indie bands from Slovenia (plus guests from Austria and Finland), featuring many, many different musical styles.
