The last 3 days of the first leg of the Koala Voice’s Da Da Tour were quite intensive. It all started great with a champion’s breakfast in Kostajnica, thanks to the amazing people of Rock Caffe. It continued with the time consuming custom check at the border with Croatia, which took hour and a half of our lives — although crossing borders and collecting stamps in your passport can be nice & fun, one thing I love about European Union is definitely the free travel no customs on the borders deal.
But the big climax of that day was sadly not the expected gig in Belgrade that night, but the van breakdown on the Croatian highway near Slavonski Brod. We were lucky to get help almost instantly, but the engine of our van was beyond repairable. We had to wait for the new one coming from Slovenia, which meant the Belgrade gig had to be cancelled — the first cancelled gig in the Koala Voice’s nine year history (!!) — which was a total bummer.
We finally got the new van around midnight, arrived in Novi Sad around 3 AM, got some sleep and then enjoyed the day in the great Bulevar Books bookstore, our amazing apartment for the day and — of course — brilliant local restaurants.
The gig in the evening was amazing, again (they were supported by the cool Hungarian trio Shakin’!). On the whole tour, I was amazed by the energy and level of professionalism by the band — I knew how tired they are, but the moment they started playing, one could not notice that at all! Hats off to them, for sure!
The last day we drove to Belgrade for the video session by the great people of Digimedia. Again, great hospitality, great food, lots of laughs.
All in all, a priceless experience with a great band — what more can a music photographer ask for? :)

Sixth edition of a smaller rock festival in my old home town, and the first one on a new location - instead of old army barracks, this year it was lake Šoderica, some 20 minutes away from the city. Also, my first time on this festival :)
