I'm from Barcelona + Kimiko
Pogon Jedinstvo, Zagreb (Croatia), 30/09/2011
My second gig the same evening after the cool Handsome Furs was the Swedish pop rock collective I'm from Barcelona. I'm saying collective, 'cause they have about 29 (!) members, though when touring, it's "just" somewhere between 10 and 15 of them on stage.
Their catchy tunes and lyrics go well with the audience, and if that's not enough, Emanuel Lundgren and his friends have got some tricks to make the atmosphere really hot: jumping all over the place, crowd surfing, giving the mic to a guy in the audience to sing a song which he requested (!), balloons and confetti are just some of them.
A crowded stage and fairly low light, the whole concert meant nothing but trouble, photography-wise speaking, but the good and positive atmosphere made my night. Like with Handsome Furs, can't wait to see them again, next time hopefully with better lighting conditions...
The Swedish collective was supported by a cool Croatian band Kimiko (somebody called them the Croatian Notwist), who are just about to release a new record - worth checking out!
