My personal concert, festivals and musical portrait favourites of the year 2017
I know I say (too?) often how time flies, but this year has been most extreme so far, for many different reasons! So — drumroll please — annual recapitulation of my best music related moments in 2017 is about to start! :)
But before we go there, I just want to pinpoint few photographic highlights for me, that made 2017 so memorable:
- I’ve had a big live music related photography exhibition in January in a town’s museum in Koprivnica, Croatia, town I was originally born in, which was really nice. A smaller one held in Maribor in June was also great, especially ‘cause a hot summer night, nice wine and great people :)
- I’ve got to work as their official photographer with the two biggest (though quite different) bands in the ex Yugoslavia region — Croatian rockers Parni Valjak and Slovenian legends Laibach, which was both just mind blowing experience!
- Not yet that big, but with time surely, are great young Slovenian indie rockers Koala Voice — I was very happy to work as their official photographer for the release of their second album few month ago!
- My photo taken at Festival Platforma Performa 2016 in Maribor won Culture category, single image at Slovenia Press Photo 2017 — to be in company of such great Slovenian photographers that won awards this, and all the previous years, I feel deeply honoured.
- Besides all that, I’ve continued working with my old clients and got few new ones, and for both I’ve been extremely extremely grateful!
And, as the tradition goes, I'm posting in no particular order some of my favourite concert, festival and musical portraits shots of the year 2017 - hope you enjoy them!
