My personal concert favorites of the year 2011 & some more...
To say farewell to another year, I'm recapitulating the last 365 days - 2011 has been quite successful year for me, with few of the highlights being:
- I (self)published my first photo book titled Moj vikend u zemlji čudesa: Snimanje koncertnog albuma "2x2" grupe Pips, Chips & Videoclips about the recording of their live DVD (my photos where also used in the DVD booklet)
- I visited few international summer festivals which I just love shooting - concerts are great, but festivals is what really drives me and what I really enjoy shooting - from INmusic and Terraneo in Croatia, to Bažant Pohoda in Slovakia and FM4 Frequency in Austria
- I successfully entered few different photo competitions and salons, with some of my photos being awarded and exhibited in different international photographic group exhibitions (1st Concorso Fotografico Internazionale Fondazione Zoé in Italy, 13th International Triennial Exhibition "Theatre in Photographic Art" in Serbia, International Exhibition of Digital Photography (in memory of George Lanitis and Georges der Parthogh) in Cyprus, to name a few), the highlight probably being the 2nd place in "Advertising : Music NON-PRO" at the International Photography Awards 2011 for photos from my "Lost in music" series
- I'm very grateful that I started some new and continued some old clients relations (media, bands, promoters, festivals and organizations) resulting in my photos being published in numerous different magazines and websites
- For the end, my photo "Thank you" was published in a great photo book "Beyond", with other 220 photos selected by the 1x.com editors - the limited edition of 1111 copies is already sold out!
To finish the year in a proper way, I'm posting some of my favorite concert and festival shots of the year 2011, in no particular order.
