Sometimes in the fall of 2017 I was commissioned to photograph few studio full length portraits of the same model in different costumes from different well known theatre plays and historical periods. The client was Prvi prizor (First Scene)*, cultural educational project run by Slovenian National Theatre Drama Maribor, and the main goal was to make a human size box cut in three for children to play with (and make the right person / costume from different combinations).
The whole photoshoot was great fun, mainly thanks to Neža Rustja (model & much more) and Vesna Gomboc (make-up artist & all around help) - thanks girls! ;)
* A bit more about the project Prvi prizor: "The cultural educational project First Scene: Theatre as a Space of Learning Symbolic Langauges, run by Slovenian National Theatre Drama Maribor, has been developing innovative learning environment and flexible learning methods in the field of theatre for young audiences."

Pandora - Art of Pole studio photoshoot #2

After an intense yet energising first day of our pole dance studio photoshoot, the second day took on a different approach. While the first day was focused on capturing a large number of dancers with a tight schedule, the second day was reserved for the teachers of Pandora - Art of Pole, a renowned pole dance school in Maribor.

A few months ago, I had the privilege of photographing the talented pole dancers (and some of their teachers) from Pandora - Art of Pole, a well-known Maribor-based pole dance school, in a studio setting. This wasn’t my first time capturing their artistry — it’s become a wonderful tradition to provide the students with lasting memories of their hard work throughout the school year and the incredible progress they’ve made.

The main idea for this year production is different music and dance style throughout the last century, so my idea for the visual representation was to show outfits typical for different time periods (which usually you wouldn’t wear at the same time) in one photo :)

Uroš Kaurin and Vito Weis are two brilliant Slovenian actors whose performance Heroj 2.0 (Hero 2.0) made quite a big impression on me and my wife Špela. I’m sad I haven’t seen the first performance (Heroj 1.0), but was very excited when I was commissioned to shoot the promotional photographs for the third performance for which we did a photoshoot in Ljubljana few weeks ago.
