Front@ is the contemporary dance festival taking place this week in Murska Sobota in Slovenia. Besides the different dance performances from artists of different European countries, it has also different workshops, and not only for dancers. I felt very privileged to have Chris Nash, master of dance
photography, coming and giving a two days photo workshop focused on, of course, dance photography.
Chris Nash may be the leading dance photographer in the UK, but he is also a genuine nice guy, which really helped the whole process of learning from this master. First and foremost, we were there to learn some new tricks of the trade and to get the better feel for the (contemporary) dance, but besides that, we got the chance to meet some cool and talented fellow photographers and some very talented young dancers which was just priceless.
Not the mention having Mr. Ewan McGregor (in his "Long Way Down" phase) disguised as very talented Hungarian dancer Márton Csuzi. Just priceless :)
I took a ton of photos in this two days and it will take me some time to sort them out, but I'm posting few ones so you can get some sense of what we were doing there :)
Photographs taken during the workshop will be featured in the The Moving Gallery project at Front@ in Murska Sobota, on August 31st and September 1st.
